Appointments & records

2 min read

The Appointments page is your running history of every charting appointment in your clinic. From here you can find a past appointment, see its note at a glance, and reopen it to read or edit the full record.

Open it from Appointments in the sidebar.

The appointments list

Each appointment appears as a card showing:

  • Patient name — who the appointment was for. If the patient record is missing, you'll see "Unknown Patient."
  • Status — a small badge marking the appointment as active (highlighted) or completed (muted).
  • Note preview — the opening of the clinical note, so you can recognize the visit without opening it. If nothing was recorded, the card reads "No notes recorded."
  • Date — when the appointment was created.

The newest appointments sit at the top by default.

Finding the right appointment

A filter bar sits above the list. You can combine these controls to narrow things down:

  • Time range — show appointments from this month, this week, or all time. The list opens on this month.
  • Sort order — list newest first or oldest first.
  • Search — start typing to match on note contents or patient name. Results update as you type.

Tip: If you can't find an older visit, switch the time range to all time before searching — the default only shows the current month.

If nothing matches, the page shows "No records found." Adjust your time range or search terms and the list refreshes.

Opening an appointment

Select any card to open its full record. At the top you'll see the appointment date and the patient's name.

The record has two parts: an editable note and a reference summary.

The note

The main panel holds the editable clinical note. Read it as-is or make changes directly in the text area — your edits save automatically a moment after you stop typing. The status line shows "Saving..." while it works, then the time of the last save.

Note: Select text in the note to use the built-in editing tools.

Reference details

Below the note is a read-only summary of the appointment:

  • Date of the appointment
  • Status (active or completed)
  • The notation and probing protocol used during charting
  • A read-only copy of the note text

The date, status, notation, and protocol are fixed reference details. The note copy mirrors whatever is currently in the editor above.

Managing a record

Two actions sit at the bottom of the record:

  • Delete — permanently removes the appointment and its note. You'll be asked to confirm first, and this can't be undone.
  • Send — exporting and emailing a record is coming soon.

To return to the full list at any time, use the Back to Records link near the top of the page.
