Your profile & security

3 min read

Your Rebrief account holds your name, sign-in email, and password. This article shows you how to update those details, change or reset your password, and keep your account safe.

Editing your profile

Your name and email live in Settings. To update them:

  1. Open Settings from the app.
  2. In the Account Settings card, edit the Name or Email field.
  3. If you changed your email, a Current password field appears. Type your current password there to confirm the change.
  4. Click Save Settings at the bottom of the page.

When the save succeeds, you'll see a "Settings saved successfully!" confirmation.

Note: Changing your email requires your current password. This protects your account so no one can quietly redirect your sign-in address.

Tip: If a save stops partway through, Rebrief tells you exactly which fields were updated before it stopped, so you know what still needs another try.

Changing your password

If you're signed in and simply want to set a new password, you don't need a reset link. Use the Change Password section in the Account Settings card:

  1. Open Settings and find the Change Password section inside the Account Settings card.
  2. Enter your Current Password.
  3. Enter your New Password, then re-type it in Confirm New Password.
  4. Click Update Password.

A few rules to keep in mind:

  • Your new password must be at least 8 characters.
  • The two new-password fields must match.
  • If the update fails, double-check that your current password is correct.

You'll see "Password updated successfully." when the change goes through.

Resetting a forgotten password

Can't sign in because you've forgotten your password? You can reset it from the login screen without contacting anyone.

  1. On the Log In page, click Forgot password?
  2. Enter the email for your Rebrief account and click Send reset link.
  3. Check that inbox for an email from Rebrief with a secure reset link. (For your privacy, the page always shows the same confirmation message whether or not an account exists for that email.)
  4. Open the email and click the link. It takes you to a Choose a new password page.
  5. Enter your new password and confirm it (again, at least 8 characters, and the two fields must match).
  6. Click Reset password, then choose Continue to login to sign in with your new password.

Note: The reset link is valid for one hour. If it has expired or doesn't work, use the Request a new link option to send yourself a fresh one.

Good security habits

A few simple habits keep your account and your patients' information safe:

  • Use a strong, unique password for Rebrief — ideally one you don't reuse on other sites. A password manager makes this easy.
  • Never share your login. Each person at the clinic should have their own account so actions stay tied to the right user.
  • Sign out on shared computers when you step away from the operatory or front desk.
  • Reset right away if something feels off. If you suspect someone else knows your password, change it immediately using the steps above.
  • Keep your email secure, since it's the address Rebrief uses to send password-reset links.

Tip: You can also sign in with Google or Microsoft instead of a Rebrief password. If you do, keep that linked account protected with its own strong password and two-step verification.
