Subscription & billing

Your Rebrief plan sets how many transcription minutes your clinic gets each period and which features your team can use. This article covers comparing plans, paying, managing your plan, and what happens if a payment doesn't go through.

The plans

Open the plans page to compare your options. You can get there from Settings by clicking Upgrade in the Current Plan section. Use the Monthly / Yearly toggle at the top to switch the prices shown on each card.

  • Starter — Free, forever. Includes 200 transcription minutes plus the core charting and note features. A good fit for part-time clinicians, residents, and students.
  • Professional — 99 CAD/month or 950.40 CAD/year. Includes 6,000 transcription minutes and the full feature set, including AmbientVision, AfterCare, and document generation.
  • Enterprise — 149 CAD/month per seat or 1,428 CAD/year per seat. Unlimited transcription minutes, team licensing options, and one-on-one support. Built for clinic owners, groups, and institutions.

The plan you're on is labelled Current Plan, and its button is disabled, so you can always tell which one is active.

Upgrading and paying

To move to Professional:

  1. On the plans page, choose Monthly or Yearly.
  2. Click Upgrade on the Professional card.
  3. You're taken to a secure checkout page with your email already filled in. Enter your card details there and confirm.
  4. Once your payment is confirmed, your plan updates automatically.

Note: Checkout and card processing happen on a secure payment page, not inside Rebrief. Rebrief never sees or stores your full card number — only the last four digits, so you can recognize the card on file.

For Enterprise, click Contact Sales instead. A short form opens where you enter a contact email and a message, and our sales team follows up about seats and setup.

Managing your plan

Open Settings to see your billing at a glance:

  • The Minutes Used card at the top shows how many transcription minutes you've used this period, your included total, and when the period renews.
  • The Current Plan section lists your plan name, the current billing period, and the card on file (shown as "Ending in" the last four digits).
  • Upgrade takes you back to the plans page to change tiers.

Cancelling or downgrading

You can step down to the free Starter plan at any time:

  1. In Settings, find the Current Plan section and click Cancel.
  2. A confirmation appears explaining that your plan will move to Starter and that Professional features end when your current billing period closes.
  3. Click Downgrade to schedule the change.

Your paid features stay active for the rest of the period you've already paid for. Nothing is cut off mid-period, and you won't be charged again.

Tip: Because access runs to the end of the period, there's no rush to cancel right before a renewal date — you keep what you paid for until that date arrives.

If a payment doesn't go through

If a renewal payment can't be collected, your subscription is treated as past due. Your existing features keep working while the payment is retried, so a single failed charge won't lock you out right away. To fix it, update your card by starting checkout again from the plans page.

If a subscription is fully cancelled and not renewed, your clinic returns to the free Starter plan with its 200-minute allowance. Your account, notes, and patient data stay intact — only the paid features and the larger minute allotment go away.
