Settings & preferences
Your Settings page is where you tune how Rebrief works for you and manage your account and clinic. Open it from the navigation, make your changes, and click Save Settings at the bottom to apply them. This article walks through each section so you know what every option affects.
Account settings
The Account section holds your basic profile and your personal charting defaults.
- Name — how you appear across the app, including on team lists.
- Email — the address tied to your account. When you edit it, a Current password field appears so you can confirm the change is really you.
Default Notation
Pick how teeth are numbered throughout Rebrief:
- FDI (International) — the two-digit system used in most of the world.
- Universal (US) — the 1-to-32 system common in the United States.
Click the option you want and it's highlighted. Your choice sets the tooth numbering you see and hear back during charting, so your notes and the tooth chart speak your language.
Default Probing Protocol
This sets the order Rebrief expects when you call out periodontal probing depths, so it lands the numbers on the right sites. Choose from three options:
- Maxillary First — work through the maxillary (upper) arch first.
- Facials First — record the facial surfaces before the lingual surfaces.
- Custom Order — draw your own sequence on a mini tooth chart, dragging across the teeth in the order you probe them.
The two preset options each show a small diagram of the path they follow. Choose the one that matches how you and your clinician probe.
Tip: Notation and probing protocol are personal to you. Set them once and every new appointment follows them automatically.
Changing your password
Lower in the same section is a Change Password area:
- Enter your Current Password.
- Enter a New Password (at least 8 characters) and confirm it.
- Click Update Password.
If the two new passwords don't match, or your current password is wrong, Rebrief tells you so and nothing changes.
Note: Changing your password uses its own Update Password button. The main Save Settings button at the bottom of the page does not save password changes.
Clinic settings
The Clinic section covers shared details for your whole clinic rather than just you:
- Clinic ID — your clinic's unique identifier. Use the copy button to grab it.
- Logo — upload, replace, or remove your clinic logo (PNG, SVG, or WebP). It's rendered in the Rebrief brand color across the app.
- Name and Specialty — your clinic's name and the specialty it practices.
- Current Plan — your plan, billing period, and the card on file, with buttons to upgrade or cancel.
Notification preferences
A single toggle controls email notifications for appointment summaries and reports. Turn it on to receive those emails, or off to stop them. This preference is saved with the Save Settings button.
Saving your changes
Most settings on this page — your notation, probing protocol, name, email, notification toggle, and clinic name and specialty — are saved together when you click Save Settings. You'll see a confirmation when the save succeeds. If something can't be saved, Rebrief shows an error and, where relevant, tells you exactly which fields were updated before the save stopped, so you know what to retry.
Deleting your account
At the very bottom, the Danger Zone lets you request account deletion. This is permanent and can't be undone, so Rebrief asks you to confirm and routes the request through support to finish it safely.
